Linda Carter Sobell, Ph.D., ABPP, is the ''President's Distinguished Professor'' at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Sobell earned her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of California at Irvine. She is well-known for her research in the addictions field.
